A French Twist!

Hello everyone and welcome back to Revivre le Livre! Todays post is a little bit about who I am and why this blog is well, what it is!
Upon entering this blog you might be thinking, "What is this blog called again?", "How do you say it?" , and perhaps even, "Why is this in French?" Well, those are all great questions, with some very simple answers.
First and foremost, I should preface this by saying I am a dual major, with you guessed it, Swahili being one of them. Just joking, it's really French! (My other major being International Studies.) You see, I spent what seemed like forever trying to think of a clever or puntastic name for a blog about literature but nothing seemed to work, or it was already taken. So one day while I was having a conversation with someone in French it hit me!
See the French have a unique rhyming style that can be very different than English. So I took the French word for book, "livre" and started thinking of what I could combine it with. For some reason though, I could not get the memorable phrase "Vive la France" (Long live France) out of my head. Then that's when it hit me "vivre" (to live) the infinitive form of "vive," rhymed with "livre." But alas, I ran into a problem where I could not leave "vivre" in any of its forms and combine it with "livre" in which it both still made grammatical sense and that it still rhymed. So again, I got out the French rhyming dictionary and saw the word "Revivre" which means to relive. Thus my problem was essentially solved. So while I'll no longer have my blog called Long Live the Book, I could instead have it called Relive the book - which in the realm of literature made more sense. After all readers live a thousands lives! Thus my blog was born!
In keeping with my love the French language and its culture and now the title of my blog, I will periodically include sections with French in it. I hope this helped clear up a bit why my blog is called Revivre le livre!
Thanks for reading, and I cannot wait to relive my first book and many others with all of you!
